Bicycling Touring is a growing recreational activity. In 2015 the Adventure Cycling Organization released a new long distance route, “Bicycle Route 66”. The route travels from Santa Monica to Chicago, roughly paralleling the famous Route 66. The route passes through La Verne on beautiful Bonita, giving a great impression of La Verne.
Because Route 66 has international recognition, the route draws cyclist from all over the country as well as internally. Increasingly, these bicycle tourist can be seen traveling in La Verne. Stop and talk with them, you’ll be surprised from where many come from or what their destination is.
